Center for Dental Excellence - Dental implants
Millions of Americans have missing teeth that cause them embarrassment, discomfort, and serious oral health issues.
To replace missing teeth, the doctors at the Center for Dental Excellence offer dental implants, which are biocompatible and very durable.
Why are dental implants considered the gold standard in tooth replacement?
Dental Implants:
A NATURAL-LOOKING, LONG-LASTING SOLUTION
Built to Last
Dental implants are made from biocompatible titanium and have shown very impressive long-term success rates. While the restorations that top your implants will eventually need to be replaced, most dental implants can last a lifetime.
Jawbone Support
One of the natural consequences of tooth loss is bone resorption. When tooth roots are missing, the bone begins to shrink in the area where tooth loss occurred. But dental implants help your jawbone remain healthy and strong and prevent your cheeks from appearing sunken.

Requirements for Patients
CONSIDERING DENTAL IMPLANTS
During your consultation, our doctors will evaluate your oral health and review your medical history to ensure that you are a good candidate for dental implants.
In general, you should be healthy enough to undergo oral surgery. Other factors that could affect your candidacy include:
Your Jawbone Health
In order to receive dental implants, you should have a sufficient amount of healthy and dense jawbone tissue. If you have already experienced some level of bone loss, a bone graft or sinus lift can help you become a good candidate once again.
Your Lifestyle Habits
If you are considering dental implants, you should quit any unhealthy lifestyle habits such as smoking. Smoking can slow down your body's healing response and has been known to increase the risk of implant failure.
Your Oral Health
During your consultation, one of our doctors will examine your smile to ensure that you are free of cavities, gum disease, and infection. If you have any of these oral health issues, we will need to treat them at our practice prior to implant surgery.
Your Systemic Health
Poorly controlled diabetes and autoimmune disorders can make it more difficult for your body to heal and increase the risks of surgical complications. For this reason, you should discuss any medical concerns with our doctors during your consultation.
Worried about undergoing dental implant surgery?
Our Doctors Take Several Measures
TO ENSURE YOUR SAFETY & COMFORT
We know that the idea of undergoing oral surgery can be scary for some patients. But dental implant surgery is a standard and widely used procedure. According to the American Dental Association, over five million implants are placed by dentists nationwide every year.
Although you will receive local anesthesia to numb the area, we also have additional sedation options available for patients who want to feel even calmer and more relaxed during surgery.

ABOUT DENTAL IMPLANTS
A Reliable Tooth Replacement Option with Life-long Benefits
Dental implants offer the most reliable, long-term solution for tooth loss. Your teeth play an integral part in your overall health, affecting everything from your diet to your sense of well-being. Although having one or more missing teeth is common—affecting 120 million Americans—it does not make tooth loss any less embarrassing or problematic to your oral health. To help restore the health of your teeth and gums, we place dental implants for single, multiple, or full arches of missing teeth. Dental implants are the only permanent solution to tooth loss that provide healthy jaw bone stimulation, while improving the aesthetics of your smile and your quality of life.
Dental Implant Review
“I truly believe dental implants are the most revolutionary change we’ve had in dentistry. We are able to replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, or a full arch with implant supported dentures.” Stephen Strout DMD, MS
Dental Implants Provide Comfort and Stability
If not replaced with a dental implant, even a single missing tooth can have adverse effects on your mouth. To compensate for the loss, surrounding teeth may shift, causing changes in your bite. A missing tooth no longer stimulates the jaw bone, which will begin to recede. To maintain a healthy structure, we place a titanium dental implant into the socket of the missing tooth. Over a period of time, usually three to six months, the implant fuses to your bone and acts like a tooth root, creating a stable foundation for your new crown. Once your treatment is complete, you will find your new tooth fits comfortably and looks authentic!
Over five million dental implants are placed each year in the United States.
The success rate of dental implants has been reported in scientific literature as 98 percent.

Your Dental Implant Options
Dental implants blend seamlessly into the smile to replace missing teeth with screw-like implants that adhere with the jaw bone. As you bite and chew with the attached dental crown, the implant provides the same bone stimulation as a natural tooth root, which keeps your bone levels healthy and protects the integrity of your smile.
Single dental implant: If you are missing even one tooth, your oral health is at risk. Without a tooth to stimulate the jaw bone, bone atrophy begins to occur which can lead to shifting of other teeth or increased risk of infection. We can replace your missing tooth with a natural-looking implant and crown the same day a tooth is removed.
Multiple dental implants: Missing more than one tooth is common and should be addressed immediately. Unlike a tooth supported bridge which relies on surrounding teeth to support the restoration, implants provide a healthy, more natural alternative to bridges, which will never shift, decay or require root canal treatment.
Full arch dental implants: If you have dentures and are looking for a more stable, healthier alternative, we can complete your smile in one visit. This option uses at least four dental implants surgically placed in the jaw bone to support a custom, natural-looking prosthesis. There are no pastes or need to worry about slipping dentures; this option is designed to stay in place.
Factors That Determine Dental Implant Cost
“With dental implants there are a few different factors that determine the cost of dental implants. What’s important is that we do things the right way. When taken care of the right way implants can last you a lifetime.”

Restore Missing Teeth with a Permanent Comfortable Solutions
Many patients visit our office because their multiple or full arch of missing teeth is causing them embarrassment, discomfort, and difficulty in everyday tasks like speaking and eating. Those who currently wear dentures are generally dissatisfied with the instability, goopy adhesives, slipping, and clicking. With the help of advanced technology, you no longer need to live with the complications associated with missing teeth or dentures. We offer full arch dental implants as a permanent, comfortable, and aesthetic solution to tooth loss.
“With full arch dental implants you can get a fixed denture thats going to stay in like natural teeth or we have an alternative that I like to call a semi fixed denture where we place implants and snap it in place until you snap take it off.”
Stephen Strout DMD, MS
Enjoy a Lifetime of Oral and Cosmetic Benefits
With full arch dental implants, you can receive an arch of new teeth that, with proper care, can last your lifetime. Because each patient is different, we provide options to benefit your unique smile needs.
Full Arch Dental Implants
Two or more dental implants are strategically placed in your jaw bone to ensure proper stability and the most beneficial results. The implants will secure and support a full-arch dental prosthesis that looks, functions, and feels like your natural teeth. Most patients are candidates for this solution, even if their tooth loss has caused jaw bone deterioration.
Implant Supported Dentures
Combining the advantages of both dentures and dental implants, implant supported dentures are a comprehensive solution to tooth loss. Between two and eight implants are placed and your current denture, or a new one, is snapped onto either a metal bar (bar-retained denture) or individual implants (ball-retained dentures). This fixed solution is much more stable and durable than traditional dentures.

Extraction, Placement, and Restoration in a Single Visit
Immediately replacing lost teeth with dental implants is the only way to preserve your jaw bone and sustain good oral health. Traditionally a long-term process, replacing missing teeth involved multiple dental visits and wearing temporaries while the permanent denture was fabricated. Utilizing the advanced technology of TeethXpress, Dr. Strout can extract remaining teeth, place four to six implants in your jaw bone, and immediately load your dental prosthesis so you can leave our office the same day with a full arch of brand new teeth! Even if you have been wearing dentures for years, this minimally invasive and highly successful procedure is the ideal solution to missing teeth.
What is the Teeth Xpress Process
TeethXpress combines the advanced technology of BioHorizons dental implants with traditional dentures to provide you with a full arch of new teeth in as little as one visit.
Before The Procedure
Dr. Strout will perform a comprehensive examination of your mouth to assess the current state of your remaining teeth and the structure of your jaw bone. From there, he will determine the best treatment plan, explain the benefits and risks, and listen to your questions and concerns.
During The Procedure
Using advanced placement technology, Dr. Strout will place four to six dental implants, positioning them strategically in your jaw bone to ensure the highest quality results. Once the posts are in place, he will fix your dental prosthesis securely to the implants. Generally, this procedure can be completed in a single visit!
After The Procedure
Dr. Strout will monitor your recovery process closely to ensure your mouth is healing properly. Over the next few weeks, we recommend patients stick to a soft diet, do not brush or floss, and use medicated mouthwash. You may experience minor and temporary discomfort.
